Martha Stewart's ex-husband isn't entertaining her claims about their relationship.
Andrew Stewart—who finalized his divorce from the media mogul in 1990—and his wife of nine years Shyla Nelson Stewart shared a message about moving on following Martha's accusations that they both had affairs during their over 25-year marriage in her Netflix documentary Martha.
"Every day, we openly express our gratitude for our love and for our life together," Shyla and Andrew wrote in an Oct. 12 Facebook post. "We both wish everyone, including Martha herself, the experience of loving and being loved deeply and fully, and the peace that comes from such a love."
And while Shyla admitted that Andrew's past love story had its ups and down, the publishing CEO didn't believe rehashing the details was in anyone's best interest.
"Prior to this happy chapter of his life, Andy had some dark ones, including a painful and abusive marriage to Martha," Shyla wrote. "While Andy quietly moved on and forward with his life, it appears that Martha continues to publicly relitigate the marriage, including comments in a sensationalized trailer for an upcoming documentary on Netflix."
And according to the couple, Andy's life since his divorce from Martha has been filled with positivity. As Shyla—who met the publisher through coworkers over a decade ago—put it, "With our shared devotion to the Earth and to our families at the center, Andy and I have built a life of beauty, meaning, productivity, and purpose, infused with true love, which we share as fully as we can with our beautiful blended family of 5 amazing adult children, our 3 adorable grandchildren, our extended family, and many cherished friends."
E! News reached out to reps for Martha and Andrew for comment but has not heard back.
In Netflix's Martha, released Oct. 25, Martha—who shares daughter Alexis Stewart, 59, with Andrew—accused her ex-husband of cheating on her at their shared Connecticut home with her assistant Robyn Fairclough, whom he went on to marry in 1993 before calling it quits years later.
"Young women, listen to my advice," Martha said in the documentary. "If you're married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he's a piece of s--t."
And the 83-year-old didn't only describe Andrew's alleged infidelity in the film. She also confessed to having her own "very brief affair" with a "very attractive Irish man" during their decades-long union and to kissing a "very handsome guy" while on their extended honeymoon in Europe.
“He didn't know I was married," Martha recalled. "I was this waif of a girl hanging out in the cathedral on Easter eve. He was emotional. I was emotional. It’s just because it was an emotional place. It was unlike anything I’d ever experienced.”
And though Martha partly attributed the alleged unfaithfulness in her marriage to its ultimate demise, she didn't have only bad memories of the romance. In fact, the Entertaining author spoke positively about losing her virginity to Andrew at age 19.
“I had never slept with anybody before this,” Martha said. “He was very aggressive, and I liked it.”
